Macclesfield men started the summer hockey last night (Friday May 9th) at the Timperley 7s league, taking a squad containing players from across the men’s squads. They played four games on the night, winning three and drawing only one against a strong team from the host club, with some strong performances from Issac Collins in goal and James Molden covering every inch of the pitch. The lads will be in action again next Friday night
Training sessions return this week (w/c 22nd August 2022) for all senior members. This season there has been a change in sessions for all teams. Both men’s and ladies’ 3s and 4s now train on Tuesdays from 19:30 to 21:00, however the first session on Tuesday 23rd August will run slightly earlier, from 18:30 to 20:00 due to pitch availability. Our Club AGM was held on the 4th May 2022 and a new Club Committee was voted in. New to the Management Committee are: Jess Duffy as Chair Aaron Gaskell as Men’s Club Captain Ellen Barratt as Ladies’ Club Captain and Jen Johnson has switched to Fundraising Officer Also Karen Greenwood is now our membership secretary and Pete Youds is both our Fixture and Umpire Secretary.
Our Chairman’s Day took place on 7th May at Tytherington School. 6 mixed teams from within the club and former members took part in a round robin tournament on Saturday Afternoon. The winner was the Green Team captained by Mark Lockett who won the final with a penalty shoot out. Congratulations to all who attended.
