Timperley Hockey Academy will be running a one day course at the club on Sunday 9th October for those interested in learning more about how to get involved with hockey - as a player, coach, umpire or volunteer. We ran a very successful course last year aimed at Young Leaders (12 and over) and based on feedback we had this year adapted it as an opportunity for parents to join in and find out more about the game. We hope those attending will enjoy the day a it will start a journey to gain a lifetime of fun and enjoyment from being involved in the sport. The course is open to anyone 12 years or over For those of you who have already had some involvement, we hope the course will give you some indicators as to where you want to develop in the game - coaching, managing, volunteering, umpiring and playing For parents we hope it will give you an informative and enjoyable way to learn more about the game and support your child in their interest in the sport The course will commence at 9.30am in the function room at the club and run through to 3.30pm / 4.00pm The morning session will be based inside and cover all aspects of the game, and give an overview of coaching, umpiring, managing, volunteering and playing A light lunch will be provided and then from 12.30pm the course will move onto the astro turf pitch for a practical session until 3.30pm A wrap up session will then be helped 3.30pm - 4.00pm James Clarke designed the course to meet the needs of young leaders and parents and will be running the course. A maximum of 28 places are available and the cost will be £10 for Timperley members and parents and £15 for anyone else.
